The Searcher - December 2026
What’s new in this issue?
Our cover exclusive this month is a Middle Bronze Age torc unearthed by Megan Rose. This is the fifth gold torc we’ve had in the magazine this year, and what a lovely example it is. Megan describes events as they unfolded when she and her partner recovered this find of a lifetime.
Other Bronze Age highlights in this issue are in the form of hoards. Firstly, a small hoard of rare Armorican axes found by Roy Williams, which are being acquired by the British Museum. And secondly, a hoard discovered by Malcolm Silcock of 26 socketed axes and other various items, including two rare bronze horse fittings similar to those found in the Peeble Hoard in Scotland.
More exclusives are a tremissis found by Adrian Evans in Norfolk and Beth Dixon reports on a club visit to the amazing Roman sites of Caerwent and Caerleon. Our technical article this month is called ‘The Depth Merchants’ by Neil Ham and Scott Sibbald – a must read for those who are looking for extra depth!
